Wilurarra Creative put on a concert night that featured bands from the Ngannyatjarra lands including Blackstone, Warakurna, Jameison and Wanarn. We had a great turn out, the bands kept everyone dancing and warm even though it was such a cold night.

Over 600 people turned out at the Warburton oval for the Sandtracks 2012 concert on Saturday 22nd September. Tjupi Band and Blackstone Band were supported by local Warburton Bands - Red Sand Beat and Central Desert Band. Thanks to the Ng Media team for setting up the stage. This week at Wilurarra Creative we have been running designs workshops, with our guest graphic designer Kate O'Conner from Top Sugar Kate worked with Delivina Lawson, Vashti Lane, and anyone else that was keen to come up with some poster ideas for the studio. The annual Blackstone Festival was a great success again this year. Wilurarra was there to offer awesome hairstyles for all. Alex Walton facilitated setting the Salon at the Women's Centre, and provided training for six Blackstone women - who are reported to be some seriously talented hairdressers. Millieann, Angela, Lucy, Lisa, Valda, Laurea helped out with hair straightening, colours, dyes and styling. There was a a huge turnout and the Salon was at capacity each day. The NPY Womens council Kungka careers confernce in Yulara 2012 was a huge success !! Wilurarra Creative designed the logo and screen printed the t-shirts and bags for the event. Wilurarra's photobooth was there to get some candid and not so candid photos check them out here
Fashion Show 2012 photos !!! The Wilurarra Creative fashion spectacular went off without a hitch. We had BBQ's, Slideshows, ninja movies pumping tunes and a great turnout. Themed catwalks included Deadly Ladies wear, Cowboys, Schoolboys and our own screen printed designs. PHAM's BBQ Launch event was a great sucess. With the PHAM's team ,The breakfest ladies, The Shire and Wilurarra Creative all working together everyone was feed, entertained and given an insights, into ideas for Warburtons future. Its been almost one year since the floods in Warburton. Over 120mm of rain fell in one night, which turned the area into a wetlands. The air strip was completly flooded and as warburton is surrounded by creeks it was cut off from the outside world for weeks.
